It would be really that the method to combat crimes in the country?

Actually, we hear a lot in the case of execution of traffickers sentenced to death in Indonesia. But what many do before even understand it is to judge hastily. Of course, someone had the audacity to enter drug in a country where everyone knows that the penalty for such a crime is death can be considered a "suicide". But would even the death penalty as a solution? The death penalty is an act that violates human rights completely, and in my opinion, should be applied only to crimes where the defendant directly affects the life of an innocent, as well as murderers, rapists and the like. I see drug trafficking as a serious crime but - just as I agree that traffickers who are on death row does not treat victims, are only to be pitied, not because they are being penalized but for not having a second chance - but such crime does not directly hurt someone's life because the drug is bought only by those who wish, as opposed to a murder or a rape. I believe that punishment height it comes to trafficking would be many years in jail or even life imprisonment in case of recurrence, but not the death penalty is an irreversible punishment and should be applied only in cases of heinous crimes more serious level, where the defendant can not, under any circumstances, have contact with society. This kind of barbaric and retrograde penalty is used only for developing countries. In the case of Indonesia for example, the death penalty in relation to drug trafficking, was established in the nineteenth century during the Opium War, where England imposed the opium trade in China. Indonesia not wanting to give in to British pressure, introduced such a law that applies to the present day. There also believe the argument that the death penalty would reduce the crime rate in a particular location, since when the criminal wants to do certain act, is already aware of its penalty, and taking Indonesia as an example, is a country with a the higher crime rates in the world.
Another factor which directly involves application of this law is the fact that the country be more radical drug trafficking combat in than in fighting crimes against life. In 2002, for example, condemned to 20 years in prison Umar Patek, responsible for the bombings in Bali that killed 202 people. So we can say that is a country where there are two weights and two measures. In Brazil, I think that kind of sentence would never work, because the laws in the country clearly do not apply to all; in this case, those who suffer such a penalty would be those of lower economic income. I leave it clear that at no time defended the traffickers, because I know that the drug sold by them ruined many lives, but I think the death penalty is a very drastic measure for such a crime, since for the most serious crimes, the penalty is not as severe as it should. Indonesia should review its legislation and its penal code?
