Opinion: Death Penalty in Indonesia

It would be really that the method to combat crimes in the country?

                                                                                                     By: Maria Carolina

Actually, we hear a lot in the case of execution of traffickers sentenced to death in Indonesia. But what many do before even understand it is to judge hastily. Of course, someone had the audacity to enter drug in a country where everyone knows that the penalty for such a crime is death can be considered a "suicide". But would even the death penalty as a solution?
The death penalty is an act that violates human rights completely, and in my opinion, should be applied only to crimes where the defendant directly affects the life of an innocent, as well as murderers, rapists and the like. I see drug trafficking as a serious crime but - just as I agree that traffickers who are on death row does not treat victims, are only to be pitied, not because they are being penalized but for not having a second chance - but such crime does not directly hurt someone's life because the drug is bought only by those who wish, as opposed to a murder or a rape. I believe that punishment height it comes to trafficking would be many years in jail or even life imprisonment in case of recurrence, but not the death penalty is an irreversible punishment and should be applied only in cases of heinous crimes more serious level, where the defendant can not, under any circumstances, have contact with society. This kind of barbaric and retrograde penalty is used only for developing countries. In the case of Indonesia for example, the death penalty in relation to drug trafficking, was established in the nineteenth century during the Opium War, where England imposed the opium trade in China. Indonesia not wanting to give in to British pressure, introduced such a law that applies to the present day. There also believe the argument that the death penalty would reduce the crime rate in a particular location, since when the criminal wants to do certain act, is already aware of its penalty, and taking Indonesia as an example, is a country with a the higher crime rates in the world.
Another factor which directly involves application of this law is the fact that the country be more radical drug trafficking combat in than in fighting crimes against life. In 2002, for example, condemned to 20 years in prison Umar Patek, responsible for the bombings in Bali that killed 202 people. So we can say that is a country where there are two weights and two measures. In Brazil, I think that kind of sentence would never work, because the laws in the country clearly do not apply to all; in this case, those who suffer such a penalty would be those of lower economic income. I leave it clear that at no time defended the traffickers, because I know that the drug sold by them ruined many lives, but I think the death penalty is a very drastic measure for such a crime, since for the most serious crimes, the penalty is not as severe as it should. Indonesia should review its legislation and its penal code?

Mantras

The mantra is a sound vibration that we use most often in meditation, but we can also use it independently.
Man in Sanskrit means mind, and Tra means liberation. So mantra literally means liberation of the mind. The mantra is a sound vibration which, when delivered correctly, has a powerful effect on our body and mind. It calms our mind and senses, relax the body and connects us to higher energies, because their vibration causes the cleaning of lower vibrating energies. The mantra is definitely a word of power, a sacred word that must be used properly and conscientiously.
Mantras are sacred sounds that help you enter a state of meditation. Endued with great energy force, they also help us to fulfill our desires. To function well, should practice them regularly, since we are worthy and fit for this - each day or at least every other day. A mantra should be repeated 8 or 108 times, but the cases in which a repeated many times, or more than seven times, mantra loses his power and in other cases should only be used in eminent danger, because we should not use the name of God in vain. The correct pronunciation is very important for him to prove effective, because the mantras are in Sanskrit, the sacred language of the Hindus. Thus, where the letter h appears, repeat as if rr. Except in some cases where j is exhaled.
The power of the mantra lies in its correct intonation and proper mentoring.
The best known of mantras, OM flees to all grammar rules exposed as it is considered the synthesis of all sounds.

Exist in the Indian tradition hundreds of mantras and the use of each has a specific purpose. For those who want to start in this practice are some indications:
Sit in a comfortable position and try to relax your breathing by concentrating on the abdomen. Next, vocalize the mantra for a minimum of three minutes. This is the most advisable way to enhance the mantra, but if you can not say it aloud, whisper it or just mentalize it.

The Journey Of a Dream

Once upon a time, a girl
And she only wanted to fly
One day she took wings
That the world has decided to cut
She fell, stood on the floor
Then remembered that he could walk
It was a long walk
To have stories she could tell
The empty little world where it came from
Where everyone thought only of gaining
That colorless sky
She wanted to paint
To that life without sounds
She wanted to sing
And those empty souls
She wanted to draw a heart
And that new world
She continued to fight
For she knew
Than walking away would never get
When finally arrived
Found the color, the sounds and the life he wanted to show
Also found its wings
And then decided to return
And returned to that world
The color, the sounds and the will to love
Also returned them dreams
Which of them will never return to the take.

ॐ Om ॐ

Om or Aum is of paramount importance in Hinduism. This symbol is a sacred syllable representing Brahman,
The impersonal Absolute of Hinduism - omnipotent, omnipresent, and the source of all manifest existence. Brahman,
Itself, is incomprehensible so a symbol becomes mandatory to help us understand the Unknowable. Om,
therefore, represents both the unmanifest (nirguna) and manifest (Saguna) aspects of God. That is why it is
called Pranava, to mean that it pervades life and runs through our prana or breath. Can be considered the sound of the universe.

Om in Daily Life
Although Om symbolizes the most profound concepts of Hindu belief, is in daily use. The Hindus begin their day or any work or a journey expressing Om. The sacred symbol is often found at the head of letters,
At the beginning of examination papers and so on. Many Hindus, as an expression of spiritual perfection, wear the Om as a pendant. This symbol is sanctified in any Hindu place or somehow or another in family temples temple.
It is interesting to note that a newly born child is ushered into the world with this holy sign. After birth, the child is ritually bathed and the sacred symbol Om is written on its tongue with honey. Thus, at the time of birth the syllable Om is initiated into the life of a Hindu and stays with him forever as a symbol of devotion. Om is also a popular symbol used in contemporary body art and tattoos.

The Eternal Syllable

According to the Mandukya Upanishad, "Om is the eternal syllable of which all that exists is but the development. Past, present and future are included in this one sound, and all that exists beyond the three forms of time is also implied in it. "

The Music of Om

Om is not a word but rather an intonation, which, like music, transcends the barriers of species, age, race, culture and even. It consists of three Sanskrit, aa, au and ma letters that when combined, make the sound Aum or Om. Believed to be the basic sound of the world and to contain all other sounds. It is a mantra or prayer in itself. If repeated with the correct intonation, it can resonate throughout the body so that the sound penetrates to the center of being, the atman or soul.
There is harmony, peace and glory that sound simple but deeply philosophical. By vibrating the sacred syllable Om, the supreme combination of letters, if one thinks of the Personality of Godhead Last and leave his body, he will certainly reach the ultimate state of eternity "stateless", says the Bhagavad Gita.

The Vision of Om

Om provides a dualistic point of view. On the one hand, it projects the mind beyond the immediate to what is abstract and inexpressible. On the other hand, makes the absolute more tangible and comprehensive. It encompasses all potentialities and possibilities, is all that was, is, or can be. He is omnipotent and also remains elusive.

The Power of OM

During meditation, when we chant Om, we create within ourselves a vibration that harmonizes sympathy with the cosmic vibration and we start thinking universally. The momentary silence between each chant becomes palpable. Mind moves between the opposites of sound and silence until, finally, he lets the sound.
In the silence, thought-Om-is quenched only; no thought. This is the state of trance, where the mind and the intellect are transcended as Individual Self merges with the Infinite Self in the religious moment of realization.
It is a time when the petty worldly affairs are lost in the desire for the universal.
Such is the immeasurable power of Om.
